DESCRIPTION
As a first time both working with and forging Damasteel my aim was first to create a brute de forge finished gyuto. Working the steel was challenging to respect the temperature ranges and slowly moving the steel into it's final form.
Secondly I wanted to bring the most out of the pattern and on the advice of Oscar from Damasteel I used the Concentric Layers pattern which gave the blade a random pattern flowing into the bolster showing the original concentric layers in the steel bar.
The knife feels strong and robust while thin behind the edge for performance. A great blade size falling between a petty and a larger gyuto a great go too for any user. The handle has been heirloom fit with a slight chamfer on each separate material for maximum comfort.
